In rural Côte d'Ivoire, the proportion of women who received antenatal care is 87%, postnatal care is 63%, and 45% of women delivered with skilled personnel. The study on women's knowledge could improve the use of this care. The objective of the study was to describe women's knowledge of antenatal care, assisted delivery and postnatal care in rural Côte d'Ivoire. A cross-sectional survey was conducted from December to January 2021 in three villages (Kodjokro, Koffiblékro and Frambo) located in the Tiapoum district. Women of reproductive age (15 to 45 years) were selected through a two-stage sampling. Socio-demographic, gynaeco-obstetrical characteristics and women's knowledge of antenatal care, assisted delivery and postnatal care were collected. A descriptive analysis was conducted for each variable. The sample consisted of 141 women with a mean age of 26.39±6.21 years. 71.60% of the women knew the number of antenatal visits (at least four visits) and about 4/5 (83.68%) knew the age at which the pregnant woman should receive antenatal care (<4 months). 96.45% of the women knew the appropriate place to give birth and the main places known were the general hospital (63.24%) and the health centre (54.41%). Women cited severe abdominal pain (54.61%) followed by heavy bleeding (51.77%) as the main danger signs for mothers during the first 2 days after delivery. Women's knowledge about quality antenatal care, delivery and postnatal care was high. Nevertheless, there is a need to intensify awareness messages on all maternal care for sustainable behaviour change.
