The general assembly of the World Health Organisation held in may 1980 recommended an exclusive breast-feeding of babies during the first six months of their lives and the pursuit of the breast-feeding till the age of two years even beyond according to the mothers’s wish to progressively introduce appropriated food complement from the age of six months. The motive behind this is that the advantages of the only for the health of the child as well as the mother but also for the family’s income and by so doing the economy of a nation. The objective of this study is to understand the link that exists between the intellectual level in accordance to the feeding policy/ choice made by feeding-mothers in the Abidjan district. During this survey, data were collected from 1028 mothers from three (3) levels of the health care systems namely a teaching anda proximity health center. The results brightly showedt that the choice of food given to babies highly depends on the level of education or level of instruction. The education of young girls therefore appears of a paramount importance when it comes to the exclusive breast-feeding policy for an adequate feeding of the baby. This positively helps in the baby’s growth and harmonious development.
