Abstract

Society continues to repress this dark and hidden side of its history from its consciousness. While we know that sexual violence exists, the phenomenon is not taken seriously. It is underestimated among the fatalities that weigh on the condition of women. It is even more common to exaggerate the problem by blaming the victim. However, under the influence of feminist movements, violence against women is being raised as a socio-political problem by several countries. NGOs and governments are thus beginning to take an interest in it, and studies and research like ours are beginning to fill a gap and contribute to reducing the phenomenon. Any woman can be a victim of sexual violence, in any society, value system, and social status, and this type of violence attacks the physical specificity and the esteem of the abused woman, because beyond the blows, it is her self-esteem that is violated and self-deprecation sets in. These abuses can manifest in a variety of behavioral, emotional, and physical ways. In addition to the injuries to the heart, there are also injuries to the body. However, even though there is growing awareness of the seriousness of this problem, the public resources allocated to combating it remain insufficient. Companies, governments, and NGOs must come together and effectively coordinate their efforts.
